15 Surprising Stats About Item Upgrading

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile,  item upgrading  is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear effectively.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in the form of item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment with them or by using the highest-quality salvage kits like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when you remove them from the item.

The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading weapons or gear. They can be forged to give additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of weapons.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item receives when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components offer a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they are able to receive. For instance, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade for tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. Following upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.

The upgrade of a weapon can increase the damage base, which could be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a higher defense level than their base. It is possible to increase value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be superior to a higher-level Runeword.

If you are upgrading an item that comes with an added bonus, the item can be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset back to 0. The same amount of power dies are used to reroll an item, just as it is used to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrading can be done by visiting the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and are available for purchase with Gold. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time, and the reroll will be made using the same materials used in the original item.

Rerolling

A player is able to roll any item they have acquired during the game, provided they have enough reroll tokens to do so. When an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent version that is level 1 of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item will come with the same extra bonuses as the original, but the stats will be different.

Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as changing it's roll by interfacing with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from a weapon to an armor or reverse the process. Its base requirements and stats remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters that own the equipment.

Players can also increase the item level of any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type, and the number of crests. Each step will give an additional 5% of damage to weapons.

The upgrade of an item can make it more powerful however, it can also decrease its quality. It is therefore essential to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all, while others will need to be upgraded in order to reach their potential. For instance one player might decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can become.

The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. These items can be costly and time-consuming to acquire, and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options left is to shell out real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was designed to give value to rare and expensive items. However, as most equipment is replaced quickly, and it can only be upgraded one level, you'll generally replace it before it is too old. It's also not worthwhile to level items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

You will be presented with a small box when you click the upgrade option for an item. It will display the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the cost for Valorstone to raise the item's level. Weapons and armor will have different prices, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% can reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.

In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item will receive when it is leveled can be shown below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window.  item upgrader  and weapons, except practice equipment, get these stats once they've been leveled up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other armor pieces like circlets and tiaras.
